Canadian Mounted Police Canadians are coming to Costa Rica mainly looking for a place to start a new life, forget about the cold weather, and enjoy the warm weather of our tropical country and its people.
Even though the decision to move has cast a lot of doubts, the truth is that today Canadians have become frequent tourists of our country and even an increasingly large colony of foreign residents. According to data from the Costa Rican Tourist Board, an average of 145.000 Canadians visit Costa Rica every year looking for adventure, exotic places, or even a quiet place to retire after many years of hard work.
Between fellow countries
Canadians not only increase the number of tourists visiting Costa Rica but also make significant contributions to the poor population of the country. One such program is aimed at helping Costa Rican children and reducing violence and child labor rates through funding and information campaigns at schools.
The 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Costa Rica and Canada is going to be celebrated this year; of course the major event has been the Free Trade Agreement promoting economic development opportunities and a gradual removal of investment and trade barriers.
