Almost all of Costa Rica’s best prospects (92.6%) would turn to the Internet if they wanted to learn more about a destination as a place to take a vacation. The vast majority would also be likely to talk with people who have been there and to pick up information at a travel agency. More than 4 in 10 would contact the destination’s tourist office.

Planning Lead Time

Like other Canadian travelers, Costa Rica’s best prospects tend to plan their vacations well in advance of departure. On their most recent international vacation, 45.2% decided on their destination four months or more in advance of departure; 22.7% did so seven months or more before leaving home.
