Casa Amanecer Bed and Breakfast

Nestled in the nearby mountains of San Ramn, Alajuela this family-owned, four-room, eco-friendly, bed and breakfast is surrounded by rolling coffee farms, sugar cane fields and banana plants. Owners and former Habitat for Humanity employees Christopher Panzer (USA), Luisa Valdivia (Peru) and their two small children welcome you to their living experiment enjoying an abundant life while treading lightly on our Earth. Local organic foods are prepared and served, biodegradable soaps are used, waste materials are recycled and organic wastes composted.

We are vegetarians, and offer vegetarian meals. Just 45 minutes from the San Jose Airport (SJO), we are on the way to the beautiful Pacific beaches, Monteverde, the hot springs at La Fortuna and Arenal.

Home Away From Home! Very Comfortable
Reviewed by Lorraine, 2009-12-08

We travelled through Costa Rica during three weeks in search of a suitable place to retire to. San Ramon is a definite finalist in our short list! We stayed 5 nights and so enjoyed local pizzas and sodas in some of the evenings and did manage to squeeze in one dinner with the family.

Since we asked, Chris even did extra homework for us, having local land owners and an insurance agent lined up to meet with us to answer our concerns and questions regarding settling in the area.

Chris and Luisa made us feel very welcome by providing a cosy, clean room, and very tasty breakfasts and snacks. Their home is beautiful, cheerful, and "green". Their family unit sets a fine example for the rest of us in their approach to healthy living. Luisa always adds that extra little touch in decorating the room or the plate. Together, they definitely "fit" in Costa Rica!

When we move to Costa Rica, we will definitely recommend our friends and family stop over for a night or two at Casa Amanecer!

great views , wonderful food and loving energy!

Chris and Luisa are doing a great job in welcoming guests in their new beautiful place! They offer healthy tasty meals filled with fresh local produce and the couple is a joy to be around.
The B&B is really clean and cared for and it is at a perfect distance from the airport in the beautiful San Ramon hills.
Rent a car at the airport , drive 40 minutes towards Lake Arenal and get a beautiful dinner and a good night rest at Casa Amanecer before going any further!
