UNPROFESSIONAL! Not recommended Reviewed by Karolina, 2010-02-16 I was in CR to get married and had everything arranged through a fantastic wedding planner Andrea (Costa Rica Paradise Weddings). I previously visited this spa and hoped to have my hair done there the day of the ceremony. Getting an appnt was a hassle, I was emailed by multiple people, and getting a straight answer took a while. Finally I decided on hair for me, and possible manicures for 4 other ladies. When we got to the wedding morning, 3 ladies backed out so it was only my maid of honor and myself - on the way there we decided to go all out (massages, hair, nails, toes, etc). When we walk in, we are bombarded by Molly THE OWNER who immediately complains where the rest of my party is, and for me to go get them from the pool and that I will have to pay for everyone. She was running around, raised her voice and was very unprofessional. She then decides to blame my wedding planner and talk badly about her, which was upsetting, as Andrea was my friend. THEN she insults my maid of honor asking if she is my mother! Please remember we were going to get more expensive services than originally asked for and that it was my WEDDING DAY! We were about to walk out altogether, when she changed her tune - invited us in, told me she would do my make up herself, complimentary, with Bare Essentials, etc etc. So we stayed. The massages were ok, but nothing spectacular and we were already so upset that we could not relax (they charge $65 for this). Then the mani/pedi - for $80 it was an amateur job that refused to dry properly and was damaged by the time we arrived at the wedding site. The hair was a JOKE - they have no facility for this, not even a mirror. The girl gave me her compact mirror from her purse to see the result (which was basically a curling iron and lots of hairspray - $45). Molly the owner never showed her face again, and did not do my make up as promised. The same girl did my makeup, not with Bare essential products, but using her own pencils, etc and I immediately wiped it all off. They charge $40 for this service!! We left as soon as possible, and laughed all the way to the hotel, where I fixed my own hair and makeup. It was THE WORST SPA EXPERIENCE EVER. No customer service skills, and amateur work. I was laid back about it, but if this was my client's wedding day, I would be ashamed she was treated like this!
Entrancing journey into a little piece of Heaven Reviewed by Rose Guild, 2009-04-22 My visits to Costa Rica always include a day or two at Spa Uno. It is devinely intoxicating to enter the spa. The staff are wonderful and the experience there is spiritual, relaxing and nourishing. The treatments are organic, natural and smell fabulous; sensual and almost edible. Give yourself and incredible experience and spend a day at this beautiful spa. Costa Rica Directory Health Spas
