Consejo Nacional de Supervisión del Sistema Financiero (CONASSIF)

El Consejo Nacional de Supervisión del Sistema Financiero (CONASSIF), se crea mediante artículo 169 de la Ley 7732, Ley Reguladora del Mercado de Valores del 19 de diciembre de 1997, como un órgano colegiado de dirección superior de las tres Superintendencias del Sistema Financiero: Superintendencia General de Entidades Financieras (SUGEF), Superintendencia General de Valores (SUGEVAL) y Superintendencia de Pensiones(SUPEN). En tal sentido, le corresponde al CONASSIF dictar los lineamientos y políticas relativas al marco regulatorio. Su creación obedece a la necesidad de fortalecer de manera coordinada e integral la labor de las superintendencias en la regulación y supervisión de las entidades que operan en el sistema financiero costarricense.
