The Costa Rica Tourist Board (ICT) is inviting the general public to enjoy the VIII National Pork Fair for 2007, which will be celebrated from November 30th to December 9th, 2007 in the town of Puriscal.
The preparation of pork in this town is a tradition which has been celebrated for more than 100 years where visitors are able to taste delicious local dishes from Puriscal, have fun on the carousels and enjoy a great variety of activities such as the folkloric festival, the mounting championship, and the stick horse races for children, just to mention a few of the attractions. All of these activities will take place at the bullring fairground, located at the entrance of the town of Puriscal.
Other attractions include cultural and special events such as bullfighting, live music, expositions and sale of different arts and crafts, as well as an orchid exposition, without forgetting the beautiful tourist attractions such as the National Park La Cangreja, the ruins of the Puriscal Temple, the Church of Barbacoas, antique mills, communitarian rural tourism, and agro-tourism.
Let yourself be captivated by the attractions that the region has to offer, known for its tradition in the elaboration of hand painted furniture with typical drawings, for the manufacturing of cigars, where tourist visits are available (Tobacco Tour) where visitors can appreciate how the product is manufactured, or if you like you can explore the indigenous reserves such as the quitirrisi and the Zapatón of Puriscal.

8:00 a.m.: Mountain bike
9:00 a.m.: First stick horse racing event for children and inauguration of the mounting championship, offered by Sensación Taurina (Bullfighting Sensation) and the best cattle raising farms in the country.
5:00 p.m.: Sensational dance with the musical band Los Hicsos
