Two important presidents visited Costa Rica |

The recent visits of Chilean president Michelle Bachelet and of the president of China Hu Jantao, are an indication of the good acceptance being experienced by the international relations of the country and of its image in the world.
 Michelle Bachellet Michelle Bachellet was here to sign an association agreement between both nations with the objective of working as a team on the presentation of joint international initiatives.
During her stay here she dictated conferences and inaugurated the new building of the Inter American Court of Human Rights. Then she traveled with Oscar Arias to El Salvador to attend together the lbero American Summit of Chiefs of State and Government.
While the quick 24 hours visit of Hu Jintao had as its purpose to establish the basis for the negotiations of a Free Trade Agreement (TLC) between China and Costa Rica,
which seeks to reinforce the political, commercial and cooperation ties with the only commercial partner of the "giant of the orient" in the central American region.
