Travel Excellence is the official travel agency for Transat Jacques Vabre.
Transat Jacques Vabre sailboat regatta representative in Costa Rica have designated the group of Tour Operators to be the official travel agency of the international event at the end of November 2009 in Puerto Limon.
The agreement has been signed among Michel Thierrée, Transatcr president; representative of the competition organization in Costa Rica, and José Martí Jimenez Figueres; Veragua representative.
Veragua will be the coordinator of the Tour Operators Group.
The two tour operators were chosen for having the highest qualification of the Sustainable Tourism certification given by the Costa Rican Tourism Institute.
The official Tour Operators will be in charged of organizing the trips (hotels, transportation, tours, special events and so on) of the sailors, companions, journalists, sponsors and their guests that will come to Costa Rica between November 18 and December 10 when the boats will arrive during their participation in the regatta.
Besides, official Tour Operators will be recommended to organize all the trips for the Costa Rican participants (sponsors, journalists and public).
The Transat Jacques Vabre is the fifth sport event in France because of its media impact. At least, 40 boats of 14 different nations will compete in the fastest sailboats of the world in a regatta that will be disputed non-stop from the French port of Le Havre to Puerto Limón. The departure date will be November 8th and the first arrivals will be expected by November 21st.
The organizers chose Limon as a new destination after having the arrival of 4 editions to Salvador de Bahia (Brazil) and other 4 in Cartagena (Colombia). This competition, organized every 2 years, is expected to arrive up to the 2015 in Costa Rica.
