The Runner initiates in Mexico and is extended to Costa Rica

The project that pretends to create a Tourist and Biological Runner between La Cruz and Nicaragua evolves firmly with the support of the governments of Costa Rica and Nicaragua. According to the deputy Maureen Ballestero, the government of Ortega already disbursed the resources to give continuity to a project that was Mexico's initiative as part of the meso American biological runner.
This it is an integral project that strives to create an alternating route that can be used by the tourists uniting the port of San Juan del Sur with the coast of La Cruz canton, stated Ballestero.
According to Ballestero, this project is born as an initiative of the local governments of the boarder zone which is in the middle of an area of great biological wealth, reason why both Environmental Vice-Ministers are involved in this project.

The contribution of our country consists on the ballasting or asphalt paving of 8 kilometers of way and the construction of a building in which customs and migration offices can be located.
Jenny Phillips vice-Property Minister, showed her consent to support the project, mainly because of the great congestion and chaos that is produced in the boarder of Peñas Blancas, declared Ballestero.
With the purpose of accelerating negotiations, the deputy informed that approximately five meetings have been celebrated with ministers and representatives of both nations. What is now lacking is the disposition of the Municipality of La Cruz to accelerate the resources to make effective, as soon as possible, what corresponds to this Council and to obtain at last the payment from the central government.
