Tourist number 2 million arrives to Costa Rica PDF Print E-mail
With the arrival of the Biedron family to the Juan Santamarķa Airport, Costa Rica celebrated emblematically the figure of tourist number two million last December 17th of 2008. The family was enthusiastically greeted by Carlos Ricardo Benavides, Minister of Tourism.

Costa Rica Certification for sustainable Tourism (CST)The seven members (father, mother and five children) come I from New Jersey. They were randomly chosen in a joint process involving ICT and tour operator companies within the program Certification for sustainable Tourism (CST).

The Biedron's are a family enjoying outdoor activities, concerned with the environment and involved on making actions in that sense. They chose Costa Rica, place where they can make a change, to leave a green, sustainable footprint on the planet.

Mark and Gretchen Biedron own Willow school, a private primary school, in New Jersey, considered the second one as to sustainable practices in the United States, because of their philosophy and teaching methods.

Mark Biedron is an acknowledged community leader promoting environmental practices in companies. He and his wife have 5 children, who study from 2nd grade of elementary school to university level.

As part of their itinerary the family will be visiting 5 different regions of our country, where beautiful beaches, forests will be the perfect setting for practicing their favorita outdoor activities: horseback riding, hiking, biking, etc.
