The Costa Rican company Valle Monteverde S.A. which offers hanging bridges’ and canopy tours will expand its operations to Panamá and Nicaragua. For the moment the company did not reveal any data as to the amount of the investment, because it is currently evaluating land concessions in both countries.
This company’s initiative — with nine years on the national market— is to offer similar tours to the ones it performs in the country.
“For the coming year we expect to begin with the construction of the Panama project, while in Nicaragua we are carrying out topographical studies to know if the land is adequate”, indicated Rodrigo Valverde, Operations Manager of Valle Monteverde in Arenal.
The company has been operating for eight years in Monteverde, province of Puntarenas, and is a pioneer in the construction of hanging bridges. In this area it counts with six bridges in a closed circuit located on an area of 300 hectares.
This tour is called Sky Walk, and combines trails, suspended bridges and platforms for observation within the forest, which permits exploring the trees’ canopy. The owners guarantee that the Sky Walk is suitable even for disabled persons.
Another one of the products is the Sky Trek, a system of pulleys (tyrolean), or canopy. It offers the possibility of observing the forest and its landscapes.
