With the four first Cessna Grand Caravan entirely new airplanes, Sansa Regional begins its change of image and renewal of fleet; offering passengers a new experience: change of attention on-board, physical rearrangement of its fleet of airplanes and a whole change of outlook in Company service.

The new Cessna Grand Caravan is especially designed for runways as the existent in Costa Rica's local airports: short and with little airport infrastructure. These airplanes can reach a maximum speed of 341 kilometers per hour and fly to an altitude up to 25 thousand feet; they can travel up to 1,698 kilometers (distance equivalent to a flight between San José and Miami).
The Cessna Grand Caravan is outfitted with the latest "Garmin 1000" technology: 3 LCD Screen, a tool working ably with the pilot, so the airplane can sense conditions such as climate, nearness of mountain systems, the route indicated to the airplane in real time or its location with respect to other airplanes in the air space.
Why should a Costa Rican airline have this equipment?
- The country's topography which is mountainous.
- Changing weather conditions throughout the year.
- Of SANSA REGIONAL's 16 destinations, only 2 have a traffic control tower and all are very busy.
The efficiency in fuel use is one of the distinctive elements of these new airplanes; it also agrees with SANSA REGIONAL's commitment of being an environmentally friendly airline.
This effort of the airline of having totally new airplanes, with fewer emissions, is completed with the agreement subscribed between SANSA and FONAFIFO to mitigate emission of greenhouse effect gases. To the date SANSA has contributed over 15 million colones for the conservation of primary forest.
