Rural Community Tourism in 17 communities PDF Print E-mail
The quality of life of the people of seventeen different rural communities will increase with the execution of a responsible environmental tourism program. The Program of the United Nations for the Development, presented the guide of the Rural Community Tourism for the projects.

Rural Tourism Costa RicaThe Program for Small Donations is supporting the rural community tourism in seventeen communities of the northern area of the country and the Lance Region of the North Atlantic.

The program of Small donations contributes to the strengthen of the local administration of the natural resources through the economical and technical support to the innovative initiatives of the organized communities, with the objective to contribute to elevated the quality of life of the rural folks. This fund is finance by the Fund of World Environment.
We are convince that the actions in a community level, actions in small scales, that have the objective to preserve the environment and to give the power to the communities and improve the level of life of those living in the community,
added the resident representaive of the Program of the United Nations.

The ccordinator of the Small donation Programs, Lilliam Jarquín, assured that
the rural community tourism and the tourism in general is initiating in Nicaragua, but there is one effort of the local organizations, of the communities in the rural zones that are betting on a production and different economy.
According to Jarquín these 17 initiatives are an example of the field of the people to contribute to the development of the country and the improvement of the environment.

Explained that these communities have built a basic infrastructure, cabañas and paths to create comfort and the opportunity to walk through the wood.

Remembered that the projects of rural community tourism are long term, “because of it we have some of the initiatives that we have support for the third consecutive year”.

The communities that support these projects are: Laguna de Moyua; Las Cañas, Yasica Norte; San José de Cusmapa; Asturias; Peñas Blancas; San Ramón; Chagüitillo; Sisle; Cerro El Gobiado y El Cañón de Somoto.

Mr. Orlando Rodriguez, local from El Conejo, in Lago Apanás, Jinotega, is a member of the Cooperativa de Servicios Múltiples Pesca Artesanal.

In there the locals were organized to received the donation, which consisted in a boat and a cabaña to host tourists.
We are very grateful because not only the cooperative is being benefit, but many communities along the shore of Lago Apanás”, pointed Orlando.
