The quality of water was one of the best qualified aspects for the study. As the best ones! Next to the European countries, Costa Rica is the third nation of the world with the best environmental performance, according to the list of the Environmental Performance Index 2010, done by the Yale Center for Environmental Law & Policy, in the United States.
 For its creation, environmental health and eco-system vitality of 163 countries were evaluated through ten different indicators. Each indicator with a percentage established according to its importance. The entry “Gas Emissions with the Greenhouse Effect” obtained within the analysis a 25%. The aspect of “Air” that evaluates the quality analyzing the effects on the human beings received a 12%.
“Water” entry studies the quality and its accessibility.
The aspect of “Forest” which evaluates reforestation and the reforestation coverage on the national ground, obtained a 4%. With this same percentage counted “Agriculture” that evaluates among other aspects the regulation of pesticides, and “Biodiversity” that qualifies the care of different alive species in the country.
