It’s only a matter of little time for the Transat Jacques Vabre, an astonishing sailing regatta, comes to Puerto Limon (in the Atlantic Coast in Costa Rica). The province is preparing to receive thousands of visitors who enjoy this giant sport event.
 The Administrative Port Board of the Atlantic Zone (Japdeva, in Spanish) and the tourism authorities work on keeping the harbor actualized, the streets clean and save and an active commerce to face the event.
Besides, the local Government started a process to capacitate young students in French with the support and sponsored of the private enterprise. There will be 14 information bots in strategic points of Limon. For this event the “Cucula” or the sloth was chosen as the official mascot of Limon.
The Transat Jacques Vabre is a sailboat competition that crosses the Atlantic. Transat Jacques Vabre is a regatta that is organized every two years and the total prize is the appealing amount of €150,000 (US $215,000). The commitment of the Transat with the environment was one of the reasons why the President Oscar Arias named the event as Public and National Interest by decreed.
