The Cow Parade is an open air exhibition of fiber glass cows, painted or sculpted by artists, craftsmen and national designers. This activity was born in Zurich, Switzerland, on 1998, with the objetive of promoting dairy farmers and milk producers.

This creative and colorful parade was such a success then, that is has taken place in Mexico, France, the Czech Republic, Spain, Hungary, United States and Argentina, among other countries. In Costa Rica this project was summoned by Vallas y Gigantografías de Costa Rica and the Municipality of San José.

Araya pointed out that the Cow Parade is one of the main street art festivals of the world, attracting citizens and creating a space for the country's artists.

Jerry Elboum, president of the Cow Parade, confirmed during the event's inauguration that the Costa Rican edition is one of the most beautiful festivals he has observed, because
it represents the country, its culture, natural resources and identity.
There is no doubt that these artists and their cows have caused admiration and more than one smile in the public, since they materialize great creativity through aspects that are humoristic, ecologic and technical.

The cows are on display in Scinjos6 from March through August, 2008. Later these art pieces will be put into auction and the funds be used for beneficence purposes.
