The DeHaviland Twin Otter of Nature Air
This Costa Rican airline received the award for “Tourism Tomorrow 2009” by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) due to the good practices in sustainable tourism and commitment in natural heritage. The objective of the prize is to stimulate the industry of tourism to protect the environment.
NatureAir received this award because of having developed the only biogas station. With this, the company reduced the emissions of carbon dioxide through a program with 100% c-neutral. This commitment was established when they started the compensation on these gases through the forest conservation in the Osa Peninsula in 2004.

Nature Air CEO said “this award stimulates all the people who work here. It makes us look for better ways to add another positive value facing social and environmental challenges.”
WTTC gathers business leaders who work in the tourism industry, also governments to create conscious on the environment as one of the biggest givers of richness and employment.
Environmental Minister, Jorge Rodriguez, referred this recognition as a satisfaction especially because of the programs that support conservation and forest recovery via advanced actions and initiatives that are recognized worldwide.
