For September 2009, Intel Costa Rica will produce the products that were manufactured in three Asian plants. These factories were closed due to the crisis. The line includes microprocessors, CPUs, and chipsets that constitute the “nerve system” of the computers. The lowest demand on chips forced Intel to close the plants in Malaysia and the Philippines. There isn’t an increment in selling about computer chips but there isn’t a substantial decrease. In Costa Rica, the selling decreased only 18% the first trimester.

Intel will launch a new more efficient and cheaper version of the chip Atom for netbook laptops that are used to be connected on the net and performed basic tasks.
This operative source based on Linux by netbook denominated Moblin is in the beta tests; better performance and more durability of the batteries comparing to the actual generation. Besides, it’s not expected to challenge the Microsoft domain in operative systems.
Actually, most of the netbooks operate with the old operative systems from Microsoft Windows XP.
The new system Windows 7, will operate in the netbooks, after the company discovered that the new system Vista is extremely heavy to operate in most of the netbooks.
