Investment overcomes $60,000

Ministry of Tourism, Allan Flores, delivered 15 motorcycles totally equipped to reinforce the labor of the employees of the tourist police with the idea to raise the security of national and international tourists.

This specialized force, is actually formed by 267 that operate in the whole country specially in the zones with more fluency of tourists like Guanacaste, Puntarenas, Limón, San José, Alajuela, La Fortuna, Dominical and Cartago.
This equipment and the reinforcement is our collaboration with the foreign tourist that visit us and the national tourist that enjoy our natural beauty, to assure them a safe environment”, expressed the minister.
Flores pointed that this investment in other initiatives done by the ICT with other governmental institutions “to make our country a stronger destination worldwide”.

ICT Costa RicaThe total value of the investment done by the ICT to deliver the 15 motorcycles is over the 60 thousand dollars. It is expected that the equipped vehicles with beacons, sirens, helmets and the respective uniforms for the officials are concentrated in the Central Pacific, Northern Guanacaste, La Fortuna and the Northern and Southern Caribbean.

The agreement between the MSP and the ICT, has allowed the investment of over 150 million colones since the creation of the tourist police in 2006. It also contemplates that for this year the creation of 400 more well trained police officers.
