Staying at Hotel 1492, at the distinguished Barrio Escalante neighborhood, is an experience uniting three elements, to make of your stay something beyond a simple night at a hotel. This aristocratic house welcomes you with its blend in perfect harmony: history, art and magnificent silence, an invitation to relax.History dates back to 1941, when the Jiménez Volio family began constructing what for many decades would be their home.

ImageDesigned by the prestigious architect Eric Murray, the building is characterized by ample social oreas, gardens and luxurious details in its finishing.

In 1995, alter her parents' death; doña Amalia, daughter of the Jiménez Volio, began the project of transforming the house into a boutique and distinguished hotel. First it was called Jade & Oro, honoring the metals and precious stones so abundant in our country.

It was doña Amalio who adds a second pillar to the hotel: Art. Mrs. Jiménez Volio was a pointer acknowledged by the national Fine Arts. Today, her works still decorate the walls of 1492, along with those of others, and antiques, defining the concept and good taste of the hotel.

The third element, very well-liked by frequent guests, is silence; and with it, the tranquility characterizing days and nights here. When the house was constructed it was designed to isolate it from external noise, creating an inner, perfect acoustic, demanded by its former owner, don Pablo Jiménez, well-known lover of music in each and every expression. Mr. Jiménez's decision is what today- over one century later - lets hotel guests enjoy silence, un invitation for sound sleep and relaxation.

The hotel is 100% focused on the corporative market: executives and representatives of International organisms, who in their trips to the country require a strategic place that allows them to travel easily to and from their meetings, demanding the best in hospitality management and service, but preferring the warmth and excellence of this small yet exquisite hotel.
