Film Festival Wants To Raise Awareness Of Poverty In The Country PDF Print E-mail

The project A Roof for my Country in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Youth (MCJ), to conduct the International Film Festival "Peace with the Earth" to raise awareness among young people on poverty in the country as part of the costa rica facts.

"This alliance allows us to create a partnership between young people and the poorest, we considered that culture helps to unite society," said Ileana Gonzalez of the Ministry of Culture.

The International Film Festival held from 27 July to 4 August and venues will the Old Customs House, National Theatre, Cine Magaly, among others. It will also carry poor communities like La Carpio, Los Guidos and Tirrases, trying to make awareness of everything the costa rica culture includes.

Ana Cristina Trejos, from a Roof for my Country, said working with the will of all involved, institutions and government to create a better society and human rights reinvidique manage to overcome the poverty in the country.

Although no details were given about the Festival organizers said that will be announced in the coming days, but taking the time to visit the festival will definitely be one the most educational tours in costa rica.

What we announced was the launch of the new image of a Roof for my Country, which as of today be called "ROOF".

This is the second time that the two institutions to jointly promote cultural activities.

Along with it the IX European Film Festival was present Costa Rica, between 1 and 17 June, a selection of films from eight countries of the old continent, which illustrated the reality of Europe today, its vicissitudes and aspirations.

There were a total of eight tapes that were projected from Germany, Austria, Belgium, Spain, France, Netherlands, United Kingdom and Italy. Several hotels in san jose costa rica managed the stay of the people in charge of the project.

The director of the Costa Rican Center of Film Production, Laura Molina, explained that most of these films combine drama with comedy so fresh and show the reality of Europe today.

For Jose Luis Martinez, the European Union delegation in Costa Rica, the selected works are "very representative of what is now living in Europe, their concerns as the coexistence and migration, as well as our cultural diversity" he added.
