Clearly, it hasn't accomplished everything. But, it has accomplished a lot. A lot of which has been very significant. Costa Rica is now an internationally recognized tourist destination.
In its 25 years, EXPOTUR has taught one lesson. Tourism is everyone's job, from the modest little family hotel in the mountain, along the edge of the road, or on the shores of the otean, to the megaprojects that boast of being world class. Each of them is a link in the chain that EXPOTUR builds finto a projection of supply and demand, development and well-being.
We obviously expect more new tour and wholesale operators from the potential and emerging markets.However, it is necessary for EXPOTUR to be open to the public during the last two days with attractive sales for national tourists, who are the most faithful.
It should be open to students. Another issue I have conversad with the highest executives of EXPOTUR and soma other colleagues is that EXPOTUR needs to treat journalists more respectfully and give us the consideration that we deserve. In intemational tourist fairs, like those repeatedly attended in Europa and the United States, treatment by the press is excepcional.
Why isn't it in Costa Rica? I respectfully suggest that these details be rectified in order to benefit us all.
