The Caribbean province of Limon could have an important change in its social and economic development from 2013. The Costa Rica Government keeps working to develop a touristic pole in the Caribbean coast. The Authorities expect to make important works in ports infrastructure and to build one tax-free area.

Limon is land of nice people, happiness, calypso, food, and ancient traditions. But, also synonymous of beautiful, unforgettable landscapes, white-sand beaches, jungle and natural richness, which attracts thousands of local and foreign visitors to enjoy real tropical experiences through different options like hiking, boating, adventure tours, and eco tours, among others amazing trips.

The canals of Tortuguero are a good example of one of the most popular Costa Rica attractions, but they are just a little part of the natural wonders that the province has to offer for travel vacations. Limon also has favorable conditions for business development and touristic projects as the Government expects.

Despite to have some of the best Costa Rica hotels, restaurants and fantastic tourist attractions, the Caribbean never has had an optimum touristic, social, and economic development.

Therefore, the Costa Rican Authorities are developing different forms to attract more business and investors to the province. The initiatives include a new tax-free area in Buffalo town, and a massive investment in both ports, Limon and Moin.

According to local media the country already signed a concession for a thousand million dollars with the Dutch company APM to build a new terminal in Moin. It is considered the biggest concession contract in the Costa Rica history.

This is a new hope for Limon, the land of the delicious “Patí” and “Rice and Beans”. Are you planning a trip for family vacations in Costa Rica? or will you come for business or simply to enjoy one of the exciting adventure packages available in the market?; no matter the reasons you have to visit the Caribbean, you won't regret visiting Limon, it always will have beautiful, and amazing attractions to live an unforgettable experience in this tropical paradise.
