Costa Rica third most competitive tourist nation in America |

Costa Rica is located in the third position of the American continent in tourist competitiveness according to the last Tourist and Travel Competitiveness of the World Economic Forum, where there were 14 aspects analyzed that make the development of the tourist industry attractive for any country.
 Some of the aspects analyzed to give a position to each nation for its tourist competitiveness are: social security, environmental sustainability, infrastructure of the means of transportation, natural and cultural resources of the country, human resource that work in the tourism sector and the price of the services.
- Canada: Its highest attractiveness is the natural heritage, with hundreds of parks, lakes and mountains. Its airport infrastructure was classified as the best of the 133 countries studied. Quebec and Ontario the best zones for skiing.
- United States: the strong points that place the country as the second best in the continent are the human, natural and cultural resource to attract tourists, like the quality of the infrastructure. From the other side, it didn’t have a good score in security.
- Costa Rica: the aspect of the natural resources received the highest qualification out of 14 factors qualified. Due to the high percentage of protected areas in the national territory and the diversity of fauna. The weakest points for the country are the social security and the road infrastructure.
- Brasil: the fauna, one of the most diverse in the world, increases the tourism competitiveness, because the biggest attraction is the eco-tourism. From the other side, the social security on the streets is the biggest negative point. The competitiveness about the prices in general were not very well evaluated.
- Mexico: received good qualifications for its natural and cultural resources. Mexico offers numerous of art and history. Some of the most visited beaches are Cancun and Acapulco. The highest levels of violence and the health system are the worst qualified aspects.
