The two presidents, Oscar Arias from Costa Rica and the recent-elected Ricardo Martinelli from Panama, announced that all possible initiatives will be taken to impulse the tourism industry together. Among their main targets are Europe and Asia.

Many of the tourists that visit Bocas del Toro; for example, come from Costa Rica. These are the kinds of situations that both countries want to incorporate as joint tourism. Another condition that will help this promotion is the newest Free Trade Agreement among the two nations.
