Automation of services in special kiosks.
The system is implemen- ted for the first time in the country at Daniel Oduber International Airport. Continental Airlines has become the first airline in Costa Rica to implement the automation of reservations and other processes through the kiosks E-Service system which operates at the new terminal of Daniel Oduber International Airport.

The system operates on six kiosks installed by Continental Airlines terminal in Liberia, where users have the ability to register themselves online, make reservations, and check a wide range of options to accelerate their journey.
With this system we are introducing a significant step to the country in saving up to 30% of waiting times for passengers and the airline, giving more opportunity for the staff to give a more personalized service in order to meet the passengers needs, said Carlos Granados, Sales Manager of Continental Airlines Costa Rica.
The electronic kiosks include an easy to use touch screen, allowing the passenger to register, buy an electronic ticket for travel on the same day, purchase an electronic ticket for an existing reservation made directly with existing Continental or through a travel agency, print boarding passes and electronic receipt ticket, register their baggage (in the designated ticket counters), and choose or change a seat.

It is also possible to change the flight fora trip on the same day and verify or enter the number of OnePass frequent flyer program, to move up a class or put on hold for I-First Class (if the passenger is an eligible One-Pass Elite member).
Transactions made on the platform are available in English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Japanese and traditional or simplified Chinese. The kiosks have a magnetic reading system so it is possible to register using any of the major credit cards on the market and the Continental OnePass frequent flyer Elite card and some passports or driving licenses that have a magnetic strip.
The kiosk at the airport just reads the encrypted name on the card enabling identification of the reservation and does not involve an additional charge. If the passenger is unable to activate the kiosk, a representative of Continental will be available to assist.
The kiosks also offer the option of registering luggage; so once the boarding ticket is received, the passenger then goes to the luggage area for delivery or near the front kiosk, where a representative of Continental will complete the process. The making of this activity was supported by Economy Rental Car and Casa del Mar Conde.
