Costa Rica proudly presented the 2004 Central America Marketplace, an event that pursued direct businesslike contacts among leisure industry professionals.
The tradeshow (it came to a close on Friday) gathered some fifty impresarios from Latin America, the Caribbean, North America and Europe who discussed such major issues as multi-destination offers, hotels and tourism attractions in Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Panama.
The fair was also attended by representatives from Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados and Jamaica.
"The goal of this outreaching effort in the Caribbean is to talk wholesalers into selling travel destinations in these three countries to their European customers," the event's organizers stated in a press release.
In all, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Panama take in roughly 53 percent of the total amount of tourists visiting Central America each year.
