Central America looking for more tourists from Cruise Liners |

The ministers of Tourism from Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica met to sign an agreement to promote more cruse liners visiting the region, according to the Secretaría Mexicana de Turismo (SECTUR).
 Sectur said that the Declaración Conjunta de Cozumel, as the agreement is called, hopes to better the region, comprised of the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America, competition for cruise ship visits.
The objective of the signing countries is to create a regional organization whose details will be known in the months to come. According to Sectur information, the area known as the "Gran Caribe" absords betweem October and March two thirds of world cruises.
Mexico says it will invest us$37.4 million dollars in developing the "Marina Cozumel" with the objective of improving the tourism infrastructure of the area and is looking to draw private investments of us$190 million dollars.
