A matter of taste
Americans are among the most frequent visitors to Costa Rica. An estimated 650.000 American tourists visit the country every year, and most choose the country as their place of residence.
There are many reasons for this: a less stressful lifestyle, better weather, and why not, many of them stay here for matters of the heart. Either for business or pleasure, Costa Rica has become home to thousands of Americans who say that nothing will make them leave this country.
I also speak Spanish!
Very satisfied with the celebration of the 4th of July, Ambassador Mark Lagdale took advantage of this opportunity to practice Spanish with our magazine. According to Lagdale, this is a perfect chance to extol the oldest democracy in the world and thank the hospitality of Costa Ricans towards Americans.
"This is a peaceful country, and today more than ever it is important for Costa Rica to establish closer ties with the United States by means of the Free Trade Agreement, which will lead to a free market along the Pacific, from Alaska to Chile", said the Ambassador.
Finally, Lagdale said that presently the American government is assessing funding programs for Costa Rica and the importance of the signing of the FTA for the country's economy.
