Alaska Airlines has begun operating in Costa Rica through the firm Karika Internacional. The company opened offices with the purpose of giving access to new destinations for travel agents and the local market.
Services in Costa Rica will focus on selling tickets, information on fees, schedules and assistance to travelers.
We are general sales agent and we link airlines operating in Costa Rica with Alaska Airlines at the main connection points as Mexico, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Denver and San Francisco," remarked Rodrigo Troyo, Karika Internacional's general manager.
Opening the office means we are looking for new markets in the United States to Costa Rica and vice versa. Although the airline does not yet fly to the country; it offers options for connection with the West Coast and the North of the United States, as well as Canada.
Alaska Airlines is the number nine airline in size of United States; its 114 Boeing airplanes transport 17 millions passengers every year.
