Feria Costa Rica is a $280 million project that may be developed in Heredia

A new business center called Feria Costa Rica might fill the current lack of suitable facilities for international congresses. The project would have the capacity to tend to 40 thousand people in more than 30 conference rooms. It would become the largest group of facilities in Latín America to carry out this kind of events.
The possible construction of these show grounds is considered by Costa Rican businesspeople to be of vital importante. To date, there are no facilities that allow large scale activities to be carried out simultaneously.
We have had to turn down events many times due to being unable to address business tourism needs. A convention center is not just a party hall. It needs surrounding infrastructure to truly provide complementary services,"stated Henry Murillo, the acting director of the National Chamber of Tourism.
The estimated construction terco is various years, and construction is expected to begin in 2010. Currently, Feria Costa Rica is in the financia¡ restructuring stage due to a securitization issue. Feria Costa Rica would be a $280 million investment and would be developed on a 23-hectare (56.8-acre) property located in Heredia.
It would be administered by Feria Valencia, the first convention center in Spain and the third in the world. This Spanish business precinct has a million meters of construction. Because of it, Valencia received a million and a hall visitors last year. The project would also have an office center, a parking lot for 7 thousand vehicles, a restaurant ares and two 250-room hotels.They will be selected by means of public bidding so that hotel companies compete.
