The beach known as "Playa Cacao" lies opposite from the Golfito waterfront and is reached by a 10 minute boat ride across the bay. On a gravel road, you can reach the beach too, but that may require a 4x4 car and is best in the dryer season.
 Cacao Beach Certainly, this small, beach strand is not overwhelming in beauty. But is, however, an absolutely worthwhile excursion. The simple homes, huts and 2 bars on the beach generate a cozy and pleasant atmosphere where you can enjoy a cold drink and a swim.
