Located outside of Monteverde, just 30 minutes from the Heliconia Hotel, this beautiful cattle ranch is a faithful reminder of Costa Rica’s lifestyle during the first half of the twentieth century. Its infrastructure has been carefully preserved for generations, so the Heliconia Ranch provides one of the broadest and most pleasing experiences that agricultural sustainable tourism has to offer.
 Some of the enjoyable activities that will put you in contact with the essence of Costa Rica are: horseback riding by beautiful places on well-broke, local horses, preparing food for the cattle, milking coco’s at the ranch's dairy and enjoying other domesticated animals. After a lunch that's typical of this region, you can rifle the ranch's tame bull.
Panoramic mountain views accompany the beautiful rural scenery of coffee fields and small villages. On the Coffee Tour, you learn the process from when the seed is planted to tasting a good cup of coffee. You will be able to try the ranch's cheeses and even learn how to make traditional corn tortillas.
