Costa Rica's cabdrivers against Child Sex Tourism PDF Print E-mail
With a view to give Costa Rica's image of child sexual exploitation haven an about-face, representatives from the United Taxis Company have joined hands with other state-run institutions and NGO's to fight back that social scourge.

United Taxis Company Costa RicaThe country's ministries of security and transportation, the Paniamor (Bread & Love) Foundation and United Taxis Co. (headquartered at the Juan Santamaria International Airport) signed an ethics code for cabdrivers who from now on will be trained as prevention agents against the illegal trade and abuse of boys and girls.

In virtue of the agreement, some 250 cabbies will drive around San Jose with signs splayed on their vehicles in repudiation to one of Costa Rica's longstanding social problems.
