The coffee tour is a one of its kind opportunity to go behind the scenes of coffee history and processing. Café Britt has arranged for an informative and entertaining tour to guide you into the tradition and culture of coffee in Costa Rica and the world.
 The first stage of the tour takes you through a coffee plantation, located in the scenic surroundings of Heredia, where some of the best SHB is produced. Visitors follow a path while talented and creative actors tell you the story of how coffee is hand picked when berries turn red, then measured by cajuelas and brought to a coffee mill or beneficio. Actors go on to explain the process of the beneficio, and then the roasting and packaging procedures.
The tour continues on inside Café Britt's comfortable theatre. Actors play different roles to address important issues, such as coffee discovery and expansion throughout Europe, its arrival to this Central American nation and growth as a commercial crop. A cupping session, held right on stage, will give you a lesson on what properties to look for when consuming gourmet coffee.
