Soon Costa Ricans will be able to once again enjoy the traditional facilities around the Doņa Ana beach in Puntarenas, thanks to the reconstruction and maintenance efforts started a few weeks ago by the Costa Rica Tourism Institute (ICT).
For the Tourism Minister, Carlos Ricardo Benavides, this project is part of the efforts that the ICT is carrying out to renovate the tourist areas that are used specifically by national tourist and Costa Rican families.
We are pleased that these efforts have begun because with the renovation of the sites infrastructure, we will revitalize a tourist area to relax and enjoy, not only for foreigners, but also for nationals who come with their families and who appreciate this traditional vacation site, said Benavides.
After a short legal process that lasted for several months, the administration allocated the project to the consortium Consultoría y Construcciķn P&S (P&S Consulting and Construction). The Project is expected to be finished in September.

The total investment that is going into the site will reach approximately $77,000 (40 million colones), and will involve the rehabilitation and renovation of the restaurant area, pedestrian access areas and administrative offices, parking area gates, and an outdoor lighting system.
In addition, they will install sanitary facilities, showers, changing rooms, repair patio areas, grills, picnic tables, potable water tanks, as well as improve the operation, treatment, and supply of water systems.
Its important to point out that the renovation of the site seeks to offer services to tourists that visit the area without staying overnight. In addition, the project will keep in mind the mandates of Article 7600, so that people with disabilities will be able to have ample space to move about the area, as well as use existing facilities.
