Getting to know Salty

Greeting my name is Salty Dog, but you can call me Salty or Dog I’ve even been known to answer to hey you ya you the goofy looking old man. First off my goal is to write an informative fishing report but with a twist. I like to put a personal touch when possible. By taking directly to anglers, there are a lot of strange thing that happen at sea. I’ve been in Costa Rica for many years; let’s just said that when I first arrived you could actually something with a colon. Just kidding.

I have had first hand experience as a mate on a 26 Boston Whaler, we were known as the Rick and Salty show by all the old time Captains although the boat owner said the only reason we caught anything is cuz when the fish got close enough to the boat to see me they committed suicide!!!

In the months to come I will try to give a complete update on the fishing and other aspects of Costa Rican living. I will make every effort to keep you the readers informed and entertained, and for any reason I don’t have an answer to something, I will go on a quest to find it. And if it turns out to be to much I work I will just make up a very convincing BIG FAT LIEI forgot to mention Salty is a bit on the lazy side.

As for the season that ended needles to say it was spectacular by all accounts. And because the use of circle hooks is used by all it ensures a fine catch for generations to come.

I said the seasons end but really the fishing never stops in Costa Rica, it just slows a tad. When one type moves out, others move in. Well that’s about all for now look forward to the upcoming months. All the best, Catch ’em up SALTY DOG.
