El museo, tiene un valor muy grande para la comunidad paraiseña, ya que tras sus puertas encierra toda la historia del cantón, desde sus inicios en la época precolombina (en el valle de Ujarrás), su colonización, el hallazgo de la Virgen de Ujarrás, -hecho que marca en gran escala la historia del pueblo-, hasta su posterior traslado a Paraíso y el creciente desarrollo que ha sufrido el pueblo desde entonces.
